About Reuben Lomas

Reuben Lomas was born in Perth in 1969 and devoted his child and adolescent years to the pursuit of excellence in sport. He played Rugby League for many years, representing his state in the Western Australia Schoolboys team for 6 years and in 1984 had the honour of being selected in the Australian Schoolboys Team. His Rugby League career culminated with an invitation in 1987 to join the Canberra Raiders, and he moved to Canberra to train with this team.

Reuben completed his academic studies at Craigie Senior High School achieving distinctions across all areas of study and was honoured as the school's Sportsman of the Year in his graduating year. Having achieved a TEE admission score high enough to be accepted into further studies at the University of WA, Reuben attended this university for a year before pursuing his dream of playing Rugby League professionally.

Reuben entered the WA police Force in late 1988 finishing 2nd in an Academy School of 176 and worked for several years in general duties, meeting Margaret and her 3 children in 1989. Subsequent to this he was accepted into the elite Tactical Response Group where he worked for several years in rapid crisis response and high profile witness protection and then as a Crime Analyst for the Bureau of Criminal Intelligence.

After 7 years on the force Reuben made the decision to leave and co-founded and built Destiny® Financial Solutions with Margaret. Having taught himself computer programming Reuben put together the early programs which ran the company and assisted the clients, and today he is responsible for having developed Destiny's unique DestinyTrack® Financial Management and Investment System as well as the comprehensive software systems that manage Destiny’s branch network.

Reuben has an International Company Directors Course Diploma (GAICD) and has completed a number of specialised courses through the Australian Institute of Company Directors covering strategy, risk, legal, board governance, compliance and business finances.

Reuben is currently the Managing Director of Destiny® Financial Solutions and Destiny® Mortgage Solutions.
